How to Get Referrals to Build Your Business | 5 Ways
Getting clients and customers is a priority as creative entrepreneur.
Clients are our lifeblood and one of the main ways to get QUALITY clients is by getting referrals.
Ideally, your current clients can connect you with their friends and other people that need or want your service.
Your clients will be able to give a strong testimony of your business and services for FREE!
Here are 5 things you can do to get referrals to build your business.
1. Start a Referral Program
One of the easiest things you can do is create a referral program. For every referral you can give a $10 discount. This is a win-win for you and your client. You get more customers and they get a discount on their next service with you.
2. Ask for Reviews
Reviews are KING! Think about the last time you shopped online. Didn’t you read the reviews before you purchased?
Think of reviews as referrals. Reviews from your clients are their “stamp of approval” of your product or service.
The more POSITIVE reviews you have, the more likely other people that come across you will think you are credible and want to work with you.
Referrals can be as simple as a rating and a comment or as detailed and personal as a video submission.
Whatever method you use to gain reviews be sure to reward people that leave a review with a “Thank You” and something extra.
3. Exceed Expectations
When you exceed someones expectations they will shout it to the world.
This is how you can gain referrals. By going above and beyond for your clients they will naturally share your products and services to anyone that will listen and this will get you QUALITY referrals!
Chick-fil-a has impeccable service and always exceeds expectations. Because of this their customers constantly sing their praises and refer their friends and family there to eat.
4. Say Thank You
Saying “thank you for being a valued customer” is one of the easiest ways to get referrals.
How often does someone thank you after you have made a purchase with them?
If you take the time to craft a heartfelt thank you note to someone that will compel them to share your business and ultimately lead to referrals.
I took an online course a few months ago and the course teacher sent out hand written thank you cards right after we signed up.
It was the most genuine thing I have ever received and whenever someone is looking for a course or information on that subject I alway suggest that course. I am now a referral source for this course.
5. Give a Referral
If you have clients in complementary industries, give them a genuine referral. By giving a referral your client will view you and your business as a partner.
Let them know that you want to share referrals and hope they would be interested in a partnership with you.
I hope these 5 ideas can help you get referrals to build your business!
